Partitions and ceilings
Drywall builds partitions, suspended ceilings and linings on a frame. It changes a space without heavy masonry: close an opening, hide services, drop a ceiling for lighting, straighten a wall that will not take plaster reasonably.
It is not a structural wall and we do not use the same board everywhere. Damp areas get the right board. Finishing, joints and paint are part of the same job.
Who it is for
We discuss it when the space needs new geometry, not when someone only wants a quick refresh.
A bedroom split in two, an office in the living room, a closure without brick and slab load.
When cables and spots have nowhere to go, a suspended ceiling collects them and leaves a clean surface below.
Instead of chasing millimetres of plaster, we line the surface then paint it like new.
Changed frames, closed routes, corners that do not meet. Drywall brings them back to one surface.
Why this approach
It is light and relatively fast. That is why it fails easily when the frame, joints or paint are rushed.
If the frame is not straight and fixed, the board will show every bend. The eye sees it as soon as side light hits.
Tape, hand filler, sanding. A joint that closes in one pass opens again or shadows in the paint.
Bathroom and wet areas are not the same as a bedroom. Material follows the space.
Drywall without proper primer and paint stays a building site. We hand it over ready to live with.
